We are delighted to announce that we have signed London 2012 Paralympic medalist Bethany Woodward to Choice Agency’s stable of athletes.
The 22-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, won 200 metres silver in the Paralympic Games in the T37 class and has since switched to long jump, winning silver for England in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
Known as “Bethy”, she has also competed for Great Britain over 400 metres and has had a remarkable rise since taking up the sport in secondary school.
Bethy, who grew up in the New Forest, took up athletics full time aged 17 having been talent spotted by British Athletics who relocated her to train at Lee Valley.
Just 18 months later, she was a 400 metre IPC Athletics World Champion, running a personal best 69.21 seconds to win gold in the championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In 2012 she set personal bests for 100 metres and 200 metres and not only won Paralympic Games silver over 200m but in the 4x100m relay too.
With a personal best of 29.12 seconds in the 200m, set when taking silver in the IPC World Championships in Lyon in 2013, and 14.73 seconds over 100m, set in 2014, plus 4.00 metres in long jump, Bethy is multi-talened.
Coached by Lee Doran, Bethy is making big strides as she works towards the Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016.
